Quant receives energy efficiency seal

Quant receives energy efficiency seal for reducing energy use by 18% in underground mine ventilation project.

Quant received the Bronze Energy Efficiency Seal from Chile’s Ministry of Energy and the Energy Sustainability Agency for the design and implementation of its “Quant Americas Energy Challenge” plan. Through this plan, the company reduced daily energy use by 18.9% in one of its underground mine control and ventilation system operations, from 4.28 MWh per day to 3.47 MWh. As a result of this project, annual electricity savings reach 295 MWh.

“This award reaffirms our commitment to implementing sustainable and responsible operations in terms of energy use”, said Quant Americas’ regional manager, Maximiliano Aqueveque. “At Quant, we are proud to promote best practices which reduce our environmental impact and maintain our high productivity and safety standards”, he added.

Quant’s energy efficiency campaign was implemented during 2019 in more than 15 operations and offices throughout the Americas region (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and the United States), and its primary goal was to raise awareness among employees regarding appropriate energy use in the tasks carried out.
