Quant & Lantmännen Cerealia: Strengthened cooperation through successful projects

Quant Finland has successfully supported its long-term customer, Lantmännen Cerealia, not only in the overall maintenance partnership, but also in the planning, management, and implementation of projects.

The close and open cooperation has yielded results, and Lantmännen Cerealia has particularly appreciated Quant’s extensive expertise and flexibility. The projects have aimed to replace end-of-life equipment with new ones while improving the automation of the equipment.

Several benefits from the implemented projects

During 2024, the local Quant team has supported our customer with several project deliveries, as well as assisting them with smaller projects.

– It has been a busy year, but we have managed to complete all four major projects as turnkey deliveries, while at the same time keeping the daily maintenance work running to support the production, says Kerkko Laitila, Automation Engineer, Quant Finland.

The implemented projects have yielded a variety of benefits in addition to the set target.

– The goal of the projects implemented during the year has been to replace equipment that is at the end of its life cycle, but we have also made other improvements achieving broader benefits. For example, with one project, we improved energy efficiency, working comfort, and operational reliability. In addition, product safety was further improved by updating the cooling system of the process equipment, Laitila says.

  • – Improved efficiency: Automation has reduced the need for manual work.
  • – Increased product safety: Updated equipment and processes ensure product quality and safety.
  • – Reduced environmental impact: Energy-efficient solutions reduce energy consumption and emissions.

Expertise and flexibility key to success

The expertise of Quant’s personnel and the long-term partnership with Lantmännen Cerealia have given the local team a deep understanding of the production plant’s processes, enabling rapid response to customer needs.

– One of Quant’s strengths is definitely the deep expertise and understanding of the processes and facilities of the customer’s production plant. We know the equipment really well because we work with it every day. In addition, we have a large team outside our site, and we can utilize their expertise when necessary, for example in planning and project implementation, Laitila says.

Customer appreciation and future plans

Quant and Lantmännen Cerealia have together succeeded in strengthening the trust in the partnership, which has been further supported by the successful projects. In the future, Quant’s goal is to further develop its operations through daily work and projects.

– The collaboration with our customer is going well. We appreciate that Lantmännen Cerealia has shown trust in us by giving us responsibility for several significant projects. This has also created a strong foundation for future development work, Laitila says.
