Data-driven maintenance – Building industrial reliability through digitalization

data-driven maintenance

At Quant, digitalization is not just a trend – it’s a strategic priority that shapes how we operate, deliver value, and support our customers’ performance. For industrial companies, digital maintenance is no longer a “nice to have”, it is a way to ensure productivity, reduce risk, and optimize total cost of ownership.

By integrating advanced analytics, IoT technologies, and AI-driven tools into our maintenance services, we help our customers shift from reactive maintenance to a model that actively supports performance, predictability, and asset reliability. This transformation is critical in today’s environment, where production efficiency and risk mitigation must go hand in hand.

–It’s all about data, you could say that data is the new oil, and at Quant, we are dedicated to refining this resource to drive our maintenance strategies, says Robert Berkel, Head of Digitalization & IT.

From insight to action – Real-time monitoring in practice

A good example of data-driven maintenance in action is the use of IoT sensors on critical production equipment. These sensors collect data on parameters like temperature, vibration, and pressure in real time, enabling us to analyze the data and detect deviations and prevent potential failures.

By reacting before issues escalate, we help customers minimize unplanned downtime, extend asset lifecycle, and create a safer work environment.

–In one case, we helped a customer save over €30,000 in lost revenue during the first three months of monitoring by detecting issues early, Robert highlights.

Safer. Smarter. More sustainable.

Digitalization supports not only operational excellence, but also safer and more sustainable industrial environments. Predictive maintenance reduces unnecessary interventions, improves energy efficiency, and enables smarter resource use. With real-time data and analytics, decisions can be based on facts, not assumptions.

–Safety and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do. By detecting issues early, we can plan ahead to identify hazards and reduce risks, all while lowering the environmental footprint by ensuring the equipment performs in an optimal manner, Robert says.

Partnership that drives progress

At Quant, our digital capabilities reflect years of collaboration with customers across the world in different sectors. We are continuously working with partners to ensure our digital capabilities enhance our service offerings. Our approach to continuous improvement includes adopting new tools, adjusting our processes, and ensuring that people have the right skills and mindset for change.

–Our clients are not just beneficiaries of our digital journey, they are active participants. Together, we are building safer, smarter, and more sustainable operations, Robert notes.

Achieving this vision requires strategic investment, an organization-wide mindset shift, and continuous learning.

–My vision for Quant is one where digitalization and data-driven maintenance are at the core of everything we do. The future is digital – and at Quant, we are ready to lead the way, Robert concludes.
