Spotlighting the Quant veterans: Eesi Vaher

In 2025, we are celebrating Quant’s 10-year anniversary as an independent company. Some of our professionals have been part of our journey since the early days and one of them is Eesi Vaher, Process Manager based in Tallinn, Estonia.
Eesi was part of the ABB team joining Quant when the company was carved out as an independent business in 2015. Having been part of Quant’s journey since the start has given her an unique perspective, and she describes the transfer as a fascinating experience.
– I would describe Quant’s journey as an express train – it has been fast-paced, yet full of different and beautiful landscapes along the way. The journey has been dynamic and constantly evolving.
Going from being a part of ABB to an independent company was a big change, which opened the door for rapid development and professional growth.
– At ABB, I was working in a large team where each function had a dedicated specialist. At Quant, with a much smaller local team, we quickly realized that we needed to take on multiple responsibilities across different roles. This environment allowed me to rapidly gain experience in a wide range of areas, which has been both challenging and rewarding, Eesi says.
– The biggest challenges often arise when faced with problems that seem like “mission impossible.” However, I firmly believe that for every issue, there is always a solution. The process of finding that solution can be tough and sometimes feels overwhelming, but when you finally manage to resolve it, the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction is incredibly rewarding.
“The growth I have experienced has been invaluable”
Having held several roles within the company has enabled Eesi to gain valuable experience in a wide range of areas. She has gone from working as an accountant to financial controller, to her current position as process owner.
– The growth I have experienced throughout my career here has been invaluable, and I am truly grateful for the diverse experiences I have gained. What makes it even more rewarding is being able to share that knowledge with my colleagues and contribute to the team’s success, she says.
The team is central when Eesi is to describe the past decade at Quant. She highlights the importance of teamwork, but also how being confident and having trust in your own abilities can bring valuable perspectives to the team and the company.
– One of the most valuable lessons I have learned is the importance of seeing things from a global perspective. Additionally, I have gained a deep appreciation for how effective teamwork drives success. Working together towards a common goal has been one of the key takeaways from my time here, she says.
– If I was to give advice to someone just starting their career here, it would be to have the courage to express your opinions and bring a fresh perspective to the company. At Quant, there is a culture that encourages open dialogue, and no one will judge you for speaking up. Your ideas and insights are valued, and being proactive can lead to meaningful contributions from the start.
“The key is to leave no room for regret”
Our company values are passionate, professional, and proud. Three elements that are key for Eesi in her daily work.
– My ambition is to always do the job professionally and with passion, so that you can be proud of the company and of yourself. The key is to leave no room for regret, knowing that you have given your best and have not overlooked anything.
Reflecting on the past decade, it has been a journey for both Eesi and Quant. And just as other Quant veterans have mentioned in previous interviews, one thing that stands out is the importance of embracing change.
– I truly believe that change can be progressive, so do not be afraid of it. Embrace new opportunities and always be open to learning something new. It is through adapting and growing that we continue to improve both individually and as a team, Eesi says.
Kerttu Raudsep, Group Internal Controls Manager:
– Eesi is the kind of colleague everyone hopes to have – reliable, experienced, and always ready to give 110 percent. With her deep knowledge across so many areas and fearless attitude toward new challenges, she is like a one-woman band, able to jump in and support anyone, on almost any topic. No matter the question or problem, Eesi is always there with a solution and a smile.
