Sustainability – The key is to utilize 100% of the potential

In industry, maintenance is in a position that it can drive significant changes, even on a large scale. Identifying the full potential of maintenance and utilizing it with sustainable solutions will lead production activities towards a more sustainable development. When the full potential is 100% utilized, the productivity also increases.

Today, the key to success is sustainability, which must be considered in all company operations. Supporting sustainable development also plays an important role in the job market when people choose their employer.

Companies are under high pressure to improve their company profile and operations in a better direction, because we all have a responsibility for creating a sustainable future. Especially, global operators like ourselves can make a big difference through our actions, which means that we have a great responsibility, but also a fantastic opportunity, to make a difference.

Even if the company is in the right state of mind to make a change, it is not always easy to find new solutions. Or if a solution is found, implementing an idea can be challenging and requires careful planning as well as the right partners. How can we join forces with our partner and solve even the most challenging situations?

Partnership and joining forces are our way of working with our customers, suppliers, and other partners. Many small steps together mean a big leap in the right direction. Active and open discussion enables the development of new ideas.

Identifying the full potential of maintenance and utilizing it through sustainable solutions, takes production to the next level towards a more sustainable approach.

Identifying the full potential of maintenance and utilizing it with sustainable solutions will lead production activities towards a more sustainable development. In our own operations, we want to focus on developing customer maintenance in a way that makes a long-term impact. By improving our customers’ productivity, we can help them produce more in a shorter period, leading to, for example, lower energy consumption, less waste, less chemicals, and a better working environment.

As a company, it is especially important for us to find new solutions which enable us to take steps towards a more sustainable maintenance and production with our customers. To succeed together.

How we design our services, what we offer our customers, how we involve suppliers, how we assess risks and opportunities, and how we behave in the communities in which we operate and meet each other, determines whether we act in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.

As one of our latest steps, we at Quant Finland have started using more electric cars in our operations. In the future, when the unit needs a new service car, we will replace the old one with an electric car.

The digitalization which has grown in industry in recent years, is one of the major steps towards a more sustainable business. With the help of various digital solutions, it is possible to obtain data that allows the maintenance plan to be made in a timely manner and is based on real maintenance needs, contributing to the improvement of performance, as well as extending the service life of the machines.

While the industry is experiencing this strong shift driven by digitalization to future maintenance and new solutions, we must not forget that maintenance is first and foremost a people business. When it comes to people, it means that safety is the key factor, creating an efficient and sustainable business.

The keys to success are in our hands when there is an opportunity to take development forward with partners, with whom we share common goals related to personnel safety, as well as the right tools and especially motivated experts in their field. Development is moving towards common goals, from small steps to larger leaps.
